I started hearing and feeling a vibration in the Swisher LT2454mower deck. Having replaced a tower bearing assemble on the mower deck last summer, I figured that the others may need to be replaced.
I put the mower on my Bend Pak Lift to check it out and could not find a obvious bearing issue. The Blades however were very worn and several cracks were showing on the Mulch wings of the blades. I also thought that one may be bent from rocks and wood strikes.
I decided to order a set of blades and THAT IS WHEN A REAL PROBLEM REARED IT’S HEAD. The Part number in My Owner’s Manual did NOT match what I was reading on the internet. That part number (3293) showed to fit a 60 inch mower, NOT a 54 inch mower.
I called the Swisher Corporate Office to find out the Truth. The Service Rep told me the
Correct part number (14326) and asked for my mower serial number so he could reference the owner’s manual.
The owner’s manual had been UPDATED to the correct part number, but even though I had Registered My Mower, I did not receive OR the Factory Did NOT ever send out a correction.
Moral of this story is to ALWAYS CHECK ON LINE FOR THE LATEST EDITION OF YOUR OWNER’S MANUAL.
Below is where to get the correct blade and where to get a Lift like mine.
