SKS Stock and Mag Upgrades

Upgrading the Yugo SKS with a stock and removable magazines seem like the way to go. I had wanted to do this for years, but the first modifications to accept the AK style mags were Iffy at best. The mods were pricy and many times Unsuccessful, so I would not spend the money for a Maybe.

Along comes the After market folks and after establishing a very good track record, I decided to take the plunge and give the old Yugo SKS a makeover.

After doing as much research as I could and reading articles and watching videos and corresponding with those that had done the Upgrade, I decided to go with the Tapco® products as much as possible.

I went with the TAPCO® SKS Railed Stock Without the BAYONET CUT, and the TAPCO® 20 round detachable Mags. The Scope Mount with 3 rail system as a part of the Spring Cover is not Tapco® and please watch the video about my concerns about it.

After overcoming the problems, I am very satisfied with the results. My SKS Yugo Upgraded Stock and Mag system is a great investment. I have links to where I got the best deals on the parts below the video.

You CAN get stocks With the Bayonet cut provision. If you want the stock that I used, you will need to remove the bayonet.

The video shows my efforts and problems that I encountered.

TAPCO® SKS Railed Stock

TAPCO® T6 6 – position SKS Stock with OR without Blade Bayonet

SKS Tri – rail Scope Mount, Matte

For the Magazines, the above Merchant has several brands. I could not get a good link from them, so Please just search when you get to one of the Stock pages.
Thank you for looking and please purchase your gear from one of the links above to help us maintain this site.

You do not “need” to know html, But, some knowledge will make things easier. Many places on the internet with code lists of the most helpful html code. Good luck, WP is fairly simple. There are some classes you can take to help the learning curve. No need to Pay a Lot to take them.
